Session Policies

Portrait Session Policies 

Session Fees
The client agrees to pay Jay Daniel Photography the specified deposit at the time of booking to secure their appointment date and time. This is a non-refundable retainer fee that goes toward your session. A balance may be due at the time of the session and will be communicated with you via email prior to your session. Your session fee covers the time and talent of the photographer, basic retouching, and creative editing of images, as determined by the photographer, and a select number of images based on the session type you’ve chosen.

Rescheduling
If an illness or situation prevents a photo session from taking place, the client may reschedule their session at least 24 hours prior to their shoot without penalty. The rescheduled date will be based on the photographer’s availability. Should the client fail to give 24 hours’ notice, or decide to completely cancel the shoot, this session fee is forfeited and will not be refunded. Appointments may also be rescheduled without penalty due to weather conditions.

Late Arrival
Please be prompt in arriving at your scheduled appointment time. If you are running late, please let us know. Your session time is important and has been measured out to give you the best results possible. The amount of time that you arrive late to your session will be deducted from your session time. If you arrive over 30 minutes after the scheduled start time without notifying us, you will be charged an additional $25. If arrival time is beyond 45 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will be charged an additional $45.

Image Delivery
Your proof gallery for image selection will be delivered within 3-5 days of your session. Once your selections are confirmed, your final edited images will be delivered via an online gallery within 2-3 weeks. The gallery will remain active for 30 days, so please ensure you download your images promptly. If you require the gallery to be reactivated after it expires, a $25 reactivation fee will apply.

Editing and Retouching
Your session fee includes basic retouching, such as skin smoothing and color correction. Additional edits, including advanced retouching or creative requests, can be accommodated for an additional fee. Please note that unedited or RAW images will not be provided, as they do not represent the final artistic vision of Jay Daniel Photography.

Prints and Products
We offer a variety of professional prints, wall art, and albums to bring your images to life. All print orders can be placed through our online store or directly with the photographer. Digital images are optimized for screen viewing, and we highly recommend ordering prints through our professional lab for the highest quality results.

Payment Policy
The session fee must be paid in full at least 48 hours before your session. Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Zelle. Payment plans may be available upon request for certain packages. Please contact us for more details.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your session, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will forfeit the deposit. Rescheduling is preferred over cancellations, and we’re happy to work with you to find a better time.

Client Responsibilities
Please arrive ready for your session, including wardrobe, hair, and makeup completed unless otherwise discussed. Ensure children or pets are supervised, if applicable. If additional preparation time is required during the session, it may reduce your total shooting time.

Photographer’s Rights
Jay Daniel Photography retains the copyright to all images created during your session. Images may be used for portfolio, website, and marketing purposes unless otherwise specified in writing by the client. If you’d prefer your images to remain private, please let us know in advance.

Reshoot Policy
In the unlikely event that you’re unsatisfied with your images due to technical issues (e.g., equipment malfunction or unforeseen circumstances), a reshoot may be scheduled at no additional cost. However, reshoots are not available for reasons such as wardrobe or styling dissatisfaction.

Weather Policy
For outdoor sessions, the photographer will monitor the weather leading up to your session. If poor weather conditions arise, you’ll be notified, and we will reschedule your session at no additional cost.
