Dear Reader,
Brittany’s graduation shoot was the perfect reminder that milestones deserve to be celebrated—not just in passing, but with intentionality. When we first connected, she wasn’t planning to attend her graduation ceremony. She told me, “It’s not that big of a deal.” But here’s the truth: it is a big deal. Every step forward in life is worth acknowledging, and I’m beyond grateful she decided to celebrate her achievement through a personalized graduation photoshoot in studio with me.
You see, Brittany found me through a previous session I did for Summer (you can read all about Summer’s 30th birthday celebration here). That connection felt so special—like the universe had a plan to bring us together to capture her story.
For Brittany’s shoot, we wanted to tell a story that celebrated her multifaceted life. We decided on three looks: her professional scrubs, a chic graduation outfit complete with a custom-decorated cap, and a stunning white ensemble that showcased her unique personality and style.
Speaking of the cap, here’s a funny story: During our consultation, she sent me a photo of her cap from an Etsy shop, and the design she loved featured the name “Emily.” Naturally, I started calling her “Emily” as a joke, and the nickname stuck throughout the session. (Brittany, or should I say Emily, you’ll always be Emily to me!) It became the running gag that kept the day light and fun—just like her energy.
The professional scrubs look was a nod to her career—a celebration of the dedication and hard work that brought her to this moment. The graduation cap and gown were her official milestone markers. And that final white outfit? It was all about letting Brittany shine as her unapologetic, confident self.
As a photographer specializing in celebration photography in Griffin, GA, my goal is always to tell stories that feel personal, fun, and timeless. And Brittany’s story was all of that and more. Each pose, every laugh, and even the behind-the-scenes moments (yes, I have some video for you!) were a great time.
Brittany’s session also served as a reminder for all of us: Whether it’s a graduation, a career change, or even just a moment of self-reflection, celebrating your wins matters. Don’t wait for the “perfect” time—document your milestones now.
So, dear reader, what milestones are you celebrating this year? Let’s create something memorable together.
Best,
JYDNL
