For this session we revisited an important place to SOQWEENLY; her childhood home.
The home where she was raised, the home where her mother lived, the home where she was married, the home where we shot her maternity photos.
Sometimes we don’t notice that life is writing the poetry for us, we’re busy being the lines.
After agreeing on the moodboard and creative direction for the shoot there was nothing left but to create. I turned on Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” and headed to the location and was blessed to produce some of my favorite images of my career thus far.
SOQWEENLY always encourages me to create, to simply go for it, to try whatever that thing is in my head and heart. She always promises to trust my direction. I’m always honored that they trust me with their families legacy through photos.
